Sonnet 3

This one still needs some work, but I'll share it anyway. Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

I fear my life is limited

I fear my life is limited by time
although my potential may seem quite vast
designed by you this role I am cast
your goal to fashion an image sublime.
How long, I ask, until the bell’s sweet chime
and helpless watch as future becomes past?
Amazed to find I’m questioning at last
is being passionate my only crime?
While insistent am I all doubts repelled,
you continue to foster endless fears
it’s true that over time my dreams dispelled
please just keep silent like my falling tears
but even still by passion I’m compelled
you’re powerless to stop the passing years.

Sonnet 2

A patchwork of life, stories preserved. Look!
It's sewn with noble intentions, though frayed,
together fabrics woven, mismatched, made
and stitched my memories within, they shook!
Like seeds that fell into a stream or brook,
unbidden image returns; pawn to rook.
Twas slain by him in love, a love betrayed.
How cruel! Those gestures' meaning I mistook!
O tapestry of scars, of wounds, and loss!
What fool was I to hope for love returned!
He's forsaken my heart, so bruised and burned,
a painless love, I've yet to come across.
It's said, by karma we are all controlled,
and with this fact, alone, I am consoled.

My first sonnet!

I fear my freedom forever is lost
to him, alas, my love I shall atone
again I find that He assessed the cost
a debt to pay lest I remain alone
concerned you ask what I intend to gain
for love cannot be harvested or grown
conceal, though I try, desire shame and pain
by Daphnis and Chloe this love is known
it burns like molten glass that glistens bright
a passion framed displayed for all to see
beheld by none; but when through shines the light
the hues reveal the beauty felt by me
afraid and hesitating I wait
for him to notice and accept our fate
