Fairy Tale Poems

Our poetry club hosted a Fairy Tale poetry slam and I competed for the first time. Here's the poems I presented in the order I presented them:

Disney Cento

Certain as the sun rising in the east,
I want adventure in the great wide somewhere:
A dazzling place I never knew.
Bittersweet and strange
Wish I could be a part of that world.

Yes I know it’s true that visions
are seldom what they seem, though
I keep wishing it would be that way,
But a dream is a wish your heart makes.
And I can’t go back to where I used to be
Cause for the first time ever I’m completely free.
and this once upon a time will never end.

Get Some Fairy Tail

Welcome to the Grimm
Red light district
Where you can get some
Fairy tail
No fantasy is out of reach
We’ll guarantee your happy ending
Anything your heart desires
Will come …
to you.
We’ll huff and puff and blow your mind

Is Alice’s body your wonderland?
Who is Little Red riding tonight?
Where did Jack plant his giant stalk?
And at the stroke of midnight
Find out exactly how the wolf ate granny.

Leave your breadcrumbs behind!
Because by the end of the night,
You won’t want to find your way home.
