It's amazing how the absence of one person can be felt by so many. Our lives at Wesleyan are so interconnected, it's impossible not to be affected by the loss of a studcent, classmate, and friend. It's a sense of emptiness that cannot be expressed in words. I didn't need to know Brandon Landeau personally to understand the grief that would decend onto campus like a blinding fog. The pain I read so clearly on the faces of those who knew him best became my own. I found myself openly weeping for someone I didn't know until after he'd died. It's a strange sensation.
Cherish those around you - both those you love and those you dislike - because you never know when they might be taken from you. Everyone exists for a reason. Everyone you come in contact with impacts your life in some way - even if you can't see it. Brandon Landeau has reminded me to love life and all those I'm blessed so share it with.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Brandon Landeau's family, his brothers at Sigma Pi, and his friends.
