Purple Meal Time
My Bros live off campus in a house they've named "Purple House." Last October the boys decided to recreate Epic Meal Time only they put their own spin on it. Thus Purple Meal Time was born. The first Purple Meal Time was an experiment. Operation Meat Pile was a disastrous monstrosity. It contained corned beef, polish sausage, baconator, beer chicken, cheesy potatoes, and bacon bacon with more bacon. They topped it off by drizzling Jack Daniels barbeque sauce and bacon ranch over the top. After it was assembled the boys of Purple House proceeded to pounce on the pile like a pack of ravenous rabid hyenas. The smacking and slurping could be heard for miles. Matt Jacobs, Meat Pile champion, was determined to eat the Meat Pile until it was GONE! The highlight of the evening was the bacon shot glass made out of real bacon. Once the shot was taken, the glass had to be eaten. It was a horrific night that lived on in my nightmares for weeks.

Brandon Landeau
It's amazing how the absence of one person can be felt by so many. Our lives at Wesleyan are so interconnected, it's impossible not to be affected by the loss of a studcent, classmate, and friend. It's a sense of emptiness that cannot be expressed in words. I didn't need to know Brandon Landeau personally to understand the grief that would decend onto campus like a blinding fog. The pain I read so clearly on the faces of those who knew him best became my own. I found myself openly weeping for someone I didn't know until after he'd died. It's a strange sensation.
Cherish those around you - both those you love and those you dislike - because you never know when they might be taken from you. Everyone exists for a reason. Everyone you come in contact with impacts your life in some way - even if you can't see it. Brandon Landeau has reminded me to love life and all those I'm blessed so share it with.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Brandon Landeau's family, his brothers at Sigma Pi, and his friends.
